The Syrian British Cultural Centre CIC began in 2017 with a heartfelt mission to support newly arrived Syrian refugees as they adjusted to life in the UK. What started as a small community-led effort quickly grew in response to the increasing needs around us.
As more people heard about our work, our reach expanded. Today, we are proud to support individuals and families from many backgrounds, including Syria, Afghanistan, Kurdistan, Yemen, Somalia, across Africa and Asia, and from wider Arab communities. Our focus has always been on helping marginalised people, particularly those living in the most deprived areas of the UK, through inclusive, culturally aware, and empowering services.
Over time, our work has developed into a strong and varied network of programmes. These include support for integration, education, wellbeing, youth development, and cultural activities. At the heart of our success is our incredible team of more than 47 dedicated volunteers. They come from a range of cultural backgrounds and speak several languages, including English. Their commitment shines through in everything they do, whether from our office, in community centres, in public spaces, or directly in people’s homes.
We are proud to deliver creative and meaningful activities that are relevant, engaging, and sustainable. With each passing year, our team becomes stronger, our work grows, and more people benefit from what we offer.
As our reputation has grown, so has demand for our services. While our base is in Liverpool, we now also serve communities in cities like Manchester, Bradford, and Birmingham. Through training, mentoring, personal growth, and community connection, we continue to create a positive and welcoming environment that feels like family to everyone we support.
If you are seeking a community that offers exceptional support, diverse cultural experiences, and a strong sense of community, then look no further. Join the Syrian British Cultural Centre CIC and be a part of our vibrant community.
